Easy Roll Brim Hat, Take 2

After making Gigantor, I tried the same knitting recipe with a different yarn. I wanted to make a gift for my Aunt, who is home recovering from a mastectomy, and still has radiation and more chemotherapy to go. I thought it would be good for those cool spring mornings when she might not feel up to wearing her hair. I called Mom to find out my aunt’s favorite color (anything but ORANGE, apparently), and then I went shopping. I found this really cool bumpy green yarn at Hobby Lobby, and two days later, it was a hat!

For this hat, I cast 80 stitches on size 11 circular needles, because the yarn didn’t have much stretch and Jan also inherited the family big head.
