A long in-service today provided some meeting knitting while listening to a Biostatistics refresher. I’ve started the Lacy Zig Zag Mitts from my July Loopy Ewe Sock Club yarn, Alchemy Juniper in Autumn Ecstasy. The pattern was actually designed for a yarn that came in a later shipment, but I’m saving it for a shawlette for me. These mitts will be a gift for my office mate, and are the first project I’ve knit from last year’s sock club.
This is my portable knitting project, which I’m leaving in my desk for long meetings, so I started the Crocus Cardigan after dinner. This little sweater is knit in pieces on straight needles, making it a nice project to work on at home (provided the baby can entertain herself with something besides my yarn).

The colorway you have in the Crystal Palace Panda Superwash is just killer. I looove it.
Looking forward to seeing some more progress on your Lacy Zig Zag Mitts. You’re off to a fabulous start.
I wish I was knitting back when I worked in universities… So many meetings! It looks like your time will be used effectively, these are great projects.
That’s a great idea to leave one project at work and one at home. You are providing me with a reminder that I need to keep a pair of socks in progress in the car!
I love both the yarns you are using right now. That purple crocus cardigan will be adorable.
Wow, I love the yarn for the cardigan. It’s amazing!
What lovely yarn choices for both projects. I wish I could knit at my job….so envious! Looking forward to seeing more of the mitts.
@Rachel and Tami – the Panda yarn is much shinier and saturated in person.
@Shannon – I wish we had commuter rail between my house and my job. As it is, the only time I’m in the car long enough to knit is when I’m driving.
@autmngeisha – I’m fortunate that one of the faculty in my department is a knitter, who also knits at long meetings and encourages her residents to do so, so there’s a precedent.
